Located on the island of Krapanj, Croatia, The Croatian Villa is a structural retrofit and architectural expansion of an existing 1990s residence. The project brings the original shell to modern building codes while strictly adhering to UNESCO heritage regulations. By preserving traditional masonry and rooflines, the design maintains the historic streetscape character required by local planning authorities.

The property is divided into three distinct buildings, featuring a new kitchen and dining volume. All interior living spaces open directly onto a central gravel courtyard. This layout prioritizes indoor-outdoor connectivity, utilizing the courtyard as the focal point for circulation between the historic retrofit and the modern annex.
